From 29 August to 13 September 2026, Cortona will once again host CortonAntiquaria, the prestigious National Antiques Fair, now celebrating its 64th edition. The exhibition will take place in the historic setting of the Sant’Agostino Conference Centre, in the heart of the town.
Founded in 1963, CortonAntiquaria is considered Italy’s longest-running event dedicated to the world of antiques. Over the years, it has become an important point of reference for collectors, art enthusiasts, scholars and visitors fascinated by the beauty of historic objects and the stories they preserve.
For more than two weeks, over twenty exhibitors will take visitors on a journey through different periods, styles and traditions. Furniture, paintings, ceramics, sculptures, silverware, jewellery, textiles and collectors’ items offer a glimpse into the tastes and everyday lives of families, homes and places from the past.
The event is not simply an opportunity to admire valuable works and artefacts, but also a chance to rediscover the importance of time, preservation and the passing down of beauty. Every object has its own story: some are sought after by collectors, others may become unique additions to a home, while others simply offer the pleasure of an unexpected discovery.
Visiting CortonAntiquaria also means spending a day exploring Cortona, one of Tuscany’s most fascinating hill towns. After visiting the exhibition, guests can stroll through the streets of the historic centre, discover Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Signorelli, visit museums and churches, or stop at one of the town’s restaurants and cafés to enjoy traditional local specialities.
The event therefore becomes the starting point for an experience combining antiques, art, landscapes and food in a town with deep Etruscan roots and a long-standing connection with culture and beauty.
For those wishing to experience CortonAntiquaria while enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside, Dimora del Campanile, located in the historic centre of Torrita di Siena, is an ideal base. Cortona can be reached in few minutes by car, travelling through the beautiful Valdichiana landscape.
Housed in the former rectory of the Collegiate Church of Saints Martin and Costanzo, dating back to 1631, Dimora del Campanile retains exposed stone walls, wooden beams and architectural details that reflect the history of the village. It is an intimate and authentic place in which to relax after a day spent among works of art, antique objects and Tuscan scenery.
Choosing Torrita di Siena also makes it possible to extend your stay and easily visit Montepulciano, Pienza, the Val d’Orcia and many of the area’s most beautiful villages, turning a visit to CortonAntiquaria into a journey through the most authentic side of Tuscany.
